Ubani regains freedom after 23-day in detention
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has released the former vice president of Nigerian Bar Association, Monday Ubani after 24 days in detention.
Ubani was arrested and detained on March 19th, along with senator Christopher Ania for failing to produce the former managing director of Nigerian social insurance trust fund, Mrs. Ngozi Olejeme whom they stood for as sureties.
Olojeme is facing a 6.4 million naira fraud charge preferred against her by EFCC.
Ubani had maintained his innocence over Olejeme’s disappearance, insisting that she absconded after the EFCC raided her home.
