Tinubu Appoints Principal Officers for New Federal University in Ogoniland
President Bola Tinubu has appointed key officers for the Federal University of Environment and Technology in Ogoniland, Rivers State.
Professor Don Mon Baridam will serve as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, while Professor Chinedu Mmom has been named Vice-Chancellor.
Baridam is a professor of Management, while Mmom teaches Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Port Harcourt.
Mmom also served as Rivers State Commissioner for Education.
The governing council includes Emmanuel Onoja from the North Central, Hamid Adekunle from the South West, Professor Chima Oji from the South East, and Alhaji Abdullahi Magaji Lamda from the North West.
Other key appointments include Dr. Mpigi Douglas as Registrar, Zoryii Nwaimanie as Bursar, and Dr. Saghanen Ntogo as Librarian.
The university will admit its first students in September 2025.
President Tinubu signed the bill establishing it in February this year.
