Three Gambian ministers test positive for COVID-19

Three cabinet ministers in Gambia have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Last week, president Adama Barrow went into self-isolation after his vice-president, Isatou Touray, tested positive for coronavirus.

Finance minister Mambureh Njie, petroleum and energy minister Fafa Sanyang and agriculture minister Amie Fabureh have also contracted the virus.

The Gambia has so far confirmed 498 coronavirus cases and nine deaths.

The government has made wearing of face masks mandatory in public places and prohibited social gatherings.
