Tanzanian president Magufuli to face 14 challengers in Oct. Elections

Tanzanian president, John Magufuli is to face 14 other candidates in elections come October.

Analysts say a divided opposition was likely to ensure he won a second term.

His main oppositions are Tundu Lissu, who returned to Tanzania last month after spending nearly three years in Belgium and ex-foreign minister Bernard Membe, who was expelled from the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi party in February.

Rights groups and the opposition have accused Magufuli of increasing repression ahead of the polls and intimidation of political rivals, accusations the administration denies.
