Sympathizers throng Olowo palace following Oba’s demise
Traditional chiefs and community leaders in Owo are paying tributes to the late Olowo of Owo kingdom, Oba David Olateru-Olagbegi.
The palace of the late monarch was full of sympathizers who came to mourn the traditional ruler.
Adaba FM observed that, markets around the palace remained closed as trees were cut to indicate that Olowo has passed on.
One of the traditional chiefs, Ekunagbara of Owo, Jamiu Ekungba said that the monarch’s competence has promoted unity and peaceful co-existence in Owo city in the last 16 years.
Ojomoluda of Owo, Koforola Oladoyinbo noted that Olagbegi’s reign was productive especially in the area of infrastructure.
Also, the Ojumu of Owo, Chief Olanrewaju Famakinwa said that the late monarch will be greatly missed.
Oba David Olateru-Olagbegi was installed by the late former governor of Ondo state, Chief Olusegun Agagu.
