Stakeholders perfect plans to re-modify Niger Delta region for national benefit

The ministry of Niger Delta affairs has pledged to support all stakeholders in an effort to deliver on all mandates.

Minister-in-charge, Godswill Akpabio said governors and stakeholders in the region have met to discuss how to fast-track regional development using the oil resources as catalyst.

Akpabio said all set goals are achievable as President Muhammadu Buhari is always ready to assist the region.

He called on the people of the region to cooperate with the authorities and stop being mischievous.

Akpabio spoke at the official commissioning of the new NDDC headquarters complex in Port Harcourt, rivers state.

In his remark at the event, Governor Hope Uzodima expressed the readiness of Imo state to support the federal government in all relevant areas.

The complex is to cater for both administrative and operational needs of the NDDC.

In the meantime, President Muhmmadu Buhari has expressed the commitment of his administration to repositioning the Niger Delta for the region to assist in national integration.

Buhari also said his administration has strengthened the Niger Delta development commission so as to impact on lives of people in the region.

He spoke virtually while commissioning the new NDDC headquarters complex in Port Harcourt.

President Buhari expressed delight that his government is commissioning the edifice after years it had been abandoned.
