Some students in Ekiti snub COVID-19 protocol
Schools have resumed in Ekiti State after much debates nationally on the safety of reopening schools amidst the second wave of COVID-19.
Some of the Primary and secondary schools visited in the state capital are not much populated for the first day of resumption as some students may not have been clear about the information on the resumption.
Most of the schools have the prescribed facilities put in place to ensure safety and check the spread of COVID 19.
But some students did not fully comply in using facemasks or maintaining physical distance, as some students at St. Louis Ikere Ekiti were sent back home for their failure to wear their facemasks.
Some Heads of Schools visited which include, Ado Community High School, St Thomas Primary School say they are committed to ensuring compliance with all COVID-19 regulations in the schools.
While ensuring that any student and staff showing symptoms of ailments are properly advised, it’s hoped that Schools across the State will intensify efforts and continued in that direction to stem the tide of the second wave of Covid-19 in the state.
