Soludo, Ibezim Sworn In for Second Term in Anambra
Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, have officially begun their second term in office, following their swearing-in ceremony held today at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square.
The oath of office and allegiance was administered by the State Chief Judge, Onochie Anyachebelu, at about 11:05 a.m., in the presence of top dignitaries and family members of the governor and his deputy.
Among those in attendance were Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, as well as elder statesman Emeka Anyaoku.
The ceremony also drew traditional rulers from across the 179 communities in Anambra State and other parts of the country, alongside members of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Governor Soludo, who secured re-election on November 8, 2025, marked the end of his first tenure with a thanksgiving service on Sunday at the International Convention Centre.
Security was visibly heightened across the state, with multiple agencies deployed to ensure a smooth and safe inauguration ceremony.
