Rumble as another faction nullifies Babayemi’s expulsion from Osun PDP
The crisis rocking the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State has taken another dimension as another faction of executive within the party says the expulsion of factional candidate of the party in the last Osun governorship election, Dotun Babayemi is illegal and usurpation of the constitution of the party.
It would be recalled that some persons who claimed to be executive of the PDP from Otun Balogun ward 2, in Ayedaade local government had last Friday, held a press conference where they alleged Babayemi of anti party activities and subsequently pronounced his expulsion from the party.
Against this background, a different members of the party at the Ward in question who claimed to be duly elected executive converged for a press conference at the PDP local government Secretariat, in Gbongan, in reaction to the purported expulsion of Babayemi
The executive in the presence of members berated actions of those who instituted the disciplinary action and expulsion of Dotun Babayemi, describing the exercise as nullity and not recognized by the party’s constitution
In their communique read by the secretary of the ward Nurudeen Adekunle the group said allegations of anti-party and the expulsion levelled against Dotun Babayemi is an imaginations of his traducers just to achieve their sinister motives.
Adekunle noted that members who partook in the illegal disciplinary action are suspended pending the constitution of a disciplinary committee to evaluate their actions and take necessary steps in line with the party’s constitution
