RUGIPO: Akeredolu Insists Students Will Pay For Property, Destroyed During Protest

Governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Friday said the students involved in the destruction and looting of property during the protest at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, will be made to face full wrath of the law.
He said the resolve was to serve as deterrent to others, and train students to be more responsible.
The Governor described as unacceptable and irresponsible the violent action of the students who destroyed among other property, the school ICT centre.
He spoke at a programme today In Akure, the state capital.
Akeredolu noted that students can show their grievances, dissatisfaction and agitation through any means, other than violence.
The Governor maintained that any act of radicalism and hooliganism by students would not condoned in all the state higher institutions.
Students of the polytechnic had on Monday went on rampage over “No School fees, no Exams Policy” leading to closure of the institution by the state government.
