Ring Road: Ekiti Govt Begins Payment of Compensation to Property Owners

The Ekiti state government has commenced the disbursement of compensation to individuals affected by the ongoing construction of Ekiti Ring Road Phase 1.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji, overseeing the distribution of cheques to affected persons from various communities in the state, emphasized the importance of compensating those affected to expedite the project’s progress.

The governor, represented by the Head of Service, Mr. Sunday Komolafe, said that despite the state’s limited resources, his administration prioritized the construction of the Ring Road project initiated by the previous administration so as to decongest traffic in the state capital.

Governor Oyebanji reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the rule of law and assured that no infrastructure demolition would occur without compensating property owners accordingly.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Land Matters, Mr. Akintobi Olusanmi, reassured landowners of comprehensive compensation for all those affected by the ongoing construction.

He urged property owners to cooperate and support the various construction stages across the state.
