Reps want FG to conduct census in 2020

The house of representatives has charged the federal government to conduct a national population census in 2020.

The call followed the adoption of a motion at the plenary on Wednesday on the need to commence the long overdue national population census in Nigeria.

The house urged the national population commission to come up with a feasible timetable for the conduct of the census not later than year 2020.

The federal government is also to provide necessary logistics the census as a way of ending the uncertainties surrounding Nigeria’s actual population.
