Renowned Poet Prof J.P Clark is dead

Renowned poet and emeritus professor of literature, John Pepper Clark is dead.

A statement by the family says, he died in the earlier hours of Tuesday.

He hailed from Kiagbodo, Burutu council area of Delta state.

The statement adds that   details of his burial will be announced later.

J. P. Clark was a younger brother to elder statesman and Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clack.

He had written many poetic works to his credit among which is the popular night rain.
