Ramaphosa to announce more plans on Eskom crisis

South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to announce more plans on how to solve the country’s power crisis.

The minister of public enterprises in the country, Mr. Pravin Gordham told parliament that the power utility needed a cash injection by April in order to survive.

South Africa’s Eskom is laden with death and is battling a shortage of capacity which is threatening a derail government plans to lift the sluggish economy.

Ramaphosa had during his state of the nation address said Eskom would be unbundled into three entities which are generation, transmission and distribution.

However, the congress of South African trade unions had resisted the idea.
