PRP withdraws from Osun governorship election

Barely 24 hours to governorship election in Osun state the candidate of Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) Ayowole Adedeji has pulled out of the race

This was made known in a statement made available to newsmen by the National secretary of the party Babatunde Alli stating lack of political activities by its governorship candidate, Ayowole Adedeji as the reason for the withdrawal

Adedeji was accused by the party national working committe of staying outside of the country since he won the party’s ticket, adding that he only travelled back to Nigeria two weeks before the election.

The party also accused Adedeji of fraudulently soliciting funds for his campaign without the party’s knowledge.

The statement notes that the party had therefore set up a 5 man disciplinary committee to investigate the matter.
