Protesters in Mongolia call for government to step down
Thousands of anti-government protesters have trooped out this morning to demand that the leadership of Mongolian people’s party steps down over allegation of corruption.
General secretary of the opposition democratic party and organizer of the protests Tsevegdorj Tuvaan told newsmen that the ruling party failed to fulfill the promises they made.
Tuvaan said the Mongolian people’s party had promised to spend heavily on infrastructure, social services and attraction of billions of dollars of foreign investment among other but that has not materialized.
The protesters also accused president Battulga Khaltmaa of corruption and failure to revive a struggling economy.
