Protest to military checkpoint leaves 6 dead in Adamawa

Six persons have been shot during a march on a military check point in Adamawa state.

The protesters had earlier visited the palace of the district head of Gurin town in Fufore area.

The protest is in reaction to a ban on the activities of motorcycle operators, popularly called “Okada”.

A ban was pronounced on the use of commercial motorcycles last month, over increased crime cases.

Meanwhile, the state government has defended the ban and promised to prevent further breakdown of law and order.
