Pro-Amotekun Protests in South West Cities as Indigenes Rally For Security Outfit
Protesters today trooped out in South West cities to support operation Amotekun.
In Akure, the Ondo state capital, residents held a solidarity walk to throw their weight behind the newly -birthed security outfit.
It was headed by the Yoruba World Congress, Ondo state chapter.
The procession started from the democracy park and ended at the governor’s office Alagbaka.
Chairman of the group, Tola Ogunlalaka, said the current security framework in the country cannot effectively safeguard the lives and property of citizens.
The governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu reiterated that operation Amotekun is not to antagonize the federal government.
He was represented by his chief of staff, Olugbenga Ale.
Operation Amotekun was launched in Ibadan on January the 9th and declared illegal by the attorney general and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami on January the 14th.
