Press Freedom: Journalists must be shielded from oppression – lawyers
Some lawyers have called on governments to shield journalists from all forms off oppression to ensure smooth discharge of their duties.
The lawyers insisted that the mass media, which is the fourth estate of the realm are watchdogs of the society and should be encouraged to discharge their duties without fear or favour.
The lawyers spoke to journalists on the occasion of this year’s world press freedom day in Lagos.
