Presidency blasts opposition lawmakers over impeachment threat

The presidency has urged members of opposition parties to support the administration to overcome the numerous problems confronting the nation, rather than deceiving Nigerians with false criticisms.

In a statement by the special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the presidency describes the move by opposition senators to stage a walkout at plenary as performative and babyish,

The presidency says unity of purpose is the only patriotic way to solving the problems, and not the attempt to impeach the president.

Shehu emphasises that the Buhari administration is committed to finding lasting solutions to the emerging security threats throughout the federation.
