Poor Security May Prompt Hunger In Nigeria’s North East

The United Nations says, over 4 million people in Northeast Nigeria may face hunger going by the state of insecurity in the zone.

The global organisation observes that frequent attacks by boko haram group have displaced farmers which could lead to food insecurity.

UN humanitarian coordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallon said the authorities in Nigeria should collaborate with humanitarian organisations to prevent the food shortage.

Kallon appealed to other relevant agencies to support government in her bid to avert hunger.
