Political crisis rocks Owo
A chairmanship aspirant in the last election of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Owo chapter, Rotimi Olipede has raised the alarm over alleged manipulation of the exercise.
Olipede who led some members of his ‘god’s project team’ to the local government service commission headquarters in Akure for a protest, accused some present and former union leaders of manipulating the exercise held on August 14, 2020.
He and his members sought a cancellation of the election that they noted was fraught with many irregularities and appealed for the intervention of the commission’s intervention.
Olipede threaten to pull his team out of NULGE if nothing was done by appropriate authorities.
In his reaction, Ondo state NULGE president, Bola Taiwo denied claims of irregularities during the election.
He said Olipede was defeated at the poll by over 200 votes.
