Police parade 65-year-old man for killing mother over palm oil proceeds

Osun State police command has paraded a 65 year old man for killing his 95 year old mother over dispute on palm plantation.

The suspect, Lukman Odejoju was paraded by the police spokesperson Yemisi Opalola at the police headquarters in Osogbo, Osun state

According to Opalola, the suspects killed his mother for refusing to grant him the rightful owner of a farmland in Apomu in Irewole local government area of the state.

The suspect who confessed to the crime said the ownership of the farmland has been contentious between himself and the mother since years back which led to his decision to take her life.

Also paraded alongside Odejoju were three suspected ritualists who murdered and dismembered a 45 year old woman Aminat Usman

One of the suspected ritualists Onifade Oyekanmi who spoke in Yoruba language confessed to the crime saying after killing the victim, they also burnt parts of her body with the intention to use it for money rituals.

The police PRO urged parents to monitor movements of their wards and to prioritize giving timely report on suspicious activities to the police
