Police Open Investigation Into Mysterious Death Of Teacher In Ekiti

Police in Ekiti state says it’s putting arrangements in top gear to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of a 59 year old woman, Victoria Yemisi Omoare.

Omoare, a secondary school teacher in Ondo state reportedly slumped and died after alighting from a private car to urinate along the Ekiti state university road in Ado Ekiti.

Commissioner of police in the state, Amba Asuquo told Adaba FM in a telephone interview that efforts are ongoing to find her relatives and cause of her death.

A lecturer at the Ekiti state university, Orimaye Oluwafemi who gave the deceased a ride told Adaba FM news that the incident occurred when the late Omoare alighted from his vehicle to ease herself and failed to return after minutes of waiting for her only to discover that she has slumped and died.

The university teacher who spoke in Yoruba language explained that the woman had been complaining of stomach upset after her three days fasting and prayers.

He further stressed that the late Omoare who hails from Akoko land in Ondo state was a teacher at Adegbola memorial high school in Akure and had been staying with his family in ado Ekiti before coronavirus case was confirmed in Ekiti state.

The woman’s corpse has been deposited at the Ekiti state teaching hospital’s mortuary in ado Ekiti.
