(PHOTOS) Ekiti Police arrest suspected kidnappers of Emure school pupils

The Ekiti State Police Command has made significant strides in apprehending suspected criminals believed to be involved in the abduction of pupils and staff from the Apostolic Faith Montessori School in Emure Ekiti.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu, vigilant efforts by the police led to a confrontation with the suspects, resulting in the death of one assailant and the capture of others.

Abutu revealed that during the course of their investigation, the police arrested ABUBAKAR ALIYU, alias “SMALLIE,” who was allegedly scouting the whereabouts of the victims, this arrest subsequently led to the apprehension of the gang leader, identified as Sumo Karami.

He added that another gang member, Kenneth Ugwu, was apprehended in Ibadan, where he confessed to being part of the criminal group.

The encounter between the police and the remaining gang members in the bush resulted in a shootout, leading to the death of one Ayuba, while others escaped through the bush.
