Peace in tunnel as stakeholders cancel Osun anniversary public lecture

The Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON in Osun state says  none of its members will be part of any other anniversary celebration on Friday, 27th of this month, other than that of governor Gboyega Oyetola.

In a statement, after its meeting in Osogbo, ALGON says its members are pleased with the achievements recorded so far by governor Oyetola.

It charged members to be present at the 2nd anniversary of Oyetola warning that any member who is found absent will be dealt with.

The statement is signed by its chairman, Idowu Abiodun and secretary, Olubisi Oladosu.

Meanwhile, the Osun state APC caucus in the National Assembly has decided to call off the public lecture scheduled for Friday November the 27.

The cancellation followed the dust the event has raised.

In the past few days, residents of the state have been living in fear over the development because governor Oyetola equally scheduled his second anniversary for the same date.

The legislators said the public lecture was planned as their contribution for the anniversary but expressed dismay on how the step was misinterpreted by the people.

The lawmakers cleared the air on that the lecture was not a brain child of former governor Rauf Aregbesola but their plan to add spice to the 2nd anniversary of governor Gboyega Oyetola.
