PDP Flagbearer Extends Olive Branch To Co-Contestants, Ahead Of October Poll
Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Eyitayo Jegede, has emerged the flagbearer of the Peoples’ Democratic Party for the October gubernatorial poll in Ondo state.
Eyitayo Jegede defeated co contestants with 888 votes at the party’s primary.
Chairman of the primary election committee also governor of Enugu state, Ifeanyi Ugwanyi announced the flagbearer after counting of votes.
In his acceptance speech, Jegede extends hands of fellowship to other contestants to jointly work towards the victory of the PDP in the October poll.
Contestants in the governorship primary include deputy governor of Ondo state Agboola Ajayi who polled 657 votes, Eddy Olafeso 175 votes, former house of representatives member, Bode Ayorinde, polled 95, Banji Okunomo 90, Boluwaji Kunlere 33, Sola Ebiseni 29 and Godday Erewa polled 14 votes.
Jegede’s emergence now pitch him as a strong opposition to incumbent governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the October guber poll.
