Osun Workers Begin Indefinite Strike

Workers In Osun state have begun an indefinite strike to drive home their demands of full salary payment from the state government.

The workers who had last week threatened to begin the strike action today, should their demands not met,all stayed off work today.

Correspondent Tolulope Faleye reports that no worker was sighted in all the state government offices in Osogbo.

The workers led by the executive of the Nigeria labour union barricaded the state Secretariat preventing government officials from entering.

Their grievances include payment of modulated salaries, nonpayment of pensions and gratuities among others.

The state chairman of NLC Jacob Adeyemi said government is not only owing salaries, but also depriving workers their promotion.

While reacting ,commissioner for information and strategy. Adelani Baderin condemned the action of the union for preventing level 1 to 7 workers from discharging their duties,saying government is not
Owing workers in that categories

He however promised that,all the union grievances will be duly addressed by the state government.
