Osun NSCDC arrests six suspected fraudsters

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp in Osun state has uncovered a shrine used by fraudsters to defraud people in Olupona Ayedire local government area of the state.

Six persons were arrested at the shrine including an old man and woman.

Several items were recovered from the fraudsters, such as fake currencies, charms, arms and ammunition.

The group’s kingpin, Abidoye Atanda confessed in Yoruba language to have defrauded a public servant of 1.6 million naira

Atanda said the victim came to their shrine to seek assistance for promotion at work

Commandant of the NSCDC in Osun state Adeyinka Oguntuase, advised Nigerians to shun the get-rich-quick notion so as not to fall victim of fraud.

Oguntuase said the suspects will be in custody of the NSCDC while investigations lasted.
