Osun govt dethrones two monarchs

Osun state government has sacked the Owa of Igbajo Oba Gboyega Famodun and Aare of Iree Oba Ademola Oluponle.

The state government has also declared the disputed stool of Akirun of Ikirin vacant.

It would be recalled that the selection process of Owa of Igbajo Gboyega Famodun who is the immediate past chairman of All Progressives Congress in Osun State has been controversial since installation on 25th of November 2022

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment in the state Kolapo Alimi says the decisions are contained in six white papers released on varying issues by the state government.

The state government also hints that it has set a task force to recover government properties carted away by previous administration.

Meanwhile, the State Government has also directed the Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment to publish the six white papers in the official government gazette for public usage.
