Osun govt clear air on palliative buses
Osun State government has debunked the rumour making the round that the palliative buses provided by the state government to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on the residents has gone moribund
Recently some videos of the buses having one mechanical issues or the other were trending on some social media platforms and findings revealed that all the buses have been retrieved to the ministry of transportation.
While reacting, the state commissioner for transportation Sesan Oyodele said that the buses are in good condition and only suspended operations during holiday and festive periods.
Oyodele said the buses are still roadworthy and were not withdrawn from operation as being insinuated.
The commissioner said the state government will soon purchase another set of buses that will complement the existing ones.
It would recalled that In November last year, the state government announced that it spent 25 million naira to refurbish 19 buses to serve as palliatives for residents as a result of fuel subsidy removal.
