Ondo Tipper Owners, Quarry Drivers Revert to old price
The Association of Quarry, Tipper Owners, Drivers in Quarry Business in Akure South, Akure North and Ifedore Council areas has reverted to the old price of sand.
The association had earlier increased the price for 10 tonnes of sand from 20,000 naira to 30,000 naira, prompting the Ondo state government to put a ban on the activities of tipper owners.
In a statement, the chairman of Quarry operators, Oguntayo Emmanuel, and the chairman of Tipper owners, Odetola Taiwo announce the reversion to the old price of 20,000 naira.
They say the move is in support of the Akeredolu administration.
Oguntayo Emmanuel and Odetola Taiwo note that the earlier increase was due to the prevailing economic situation in the country which is seriously affecting the cost of doing business.
