The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, has led a security assessment of schools across the state as part of efforts to strengthen the safety of students, staff, and school property.

The assessment, carried out on Friday, January 16, 2026, covered selected public schools, including Federal Government Colleges and Police Secondary Schools in Idoani, Akure, Isua-Akoko, and other locations.

The Commissioner said the exercise was aimed at evaluating existing security measures and ensuring adequate protection in schools across Ondo State.

A statement by the police spokesman, Jimoh Abayomi says the Commissioner also inspected security deployments along boundary areas shared with neighbouring states, where he charges officers on duty to remain professional and committed to protecting lives and property.

In the statement, CP Lawal reassured residents that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to safeguard schools across the state.
