Ondo Police Smash Car Theft Syndicate, Recover Stolen Toyota Camry

The Ondo State Police Command has smashed a car theft syndicate and recovered a stolen Toyota Camry in Owo.

Police said the car, originally golden in colour, was stolen from a woman’s apartment in Osi, Akure, and later repainted blue to conceal its identity.

The vehicle was found in the home of one suspect, Fagbote Micheal Olamilekan, who confessed to buying it for 4 million Naira from an accomplice now on the run.

Investigators also discovered that a painter aided in changing the car’s colour, and both he and the alleged seller are currently being hunted by the police.

The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, praised his officers for their effort and warned artisans like painters and mechanics not to tamper with stolen vehicles.
