Ondo lawmakers seek FG’s intervention on Federal roads

The Ondo state caucus in the house representative has sought the intervention of the federal ministry of works and housing on the rehabilitation of federal government roads in the state.

The lawmakers called the attention of the minister of works and housing Babatunde Fashola to the deplorable state of many federal roads linking Ondo state.

Leader of the caucus, Mayowa Akinfolarin said bad federal roads in the state have constituted major security threats to hundred of travellers.

The lawmaker representing Akoko south east/southwest federal constituency Mr Ade Adeogun said the ministry has not initiated the construction of any road in the state since inception of the Buhari administration.

In his remarks, minister of works and housing Babatunde blamed the situation of the bad roads on paucity of funds, and difficulties in paying contractors.

Other lawmakers at the meeting are Abiola Makinde, Omolafe Adedayo, Oluwatimileyin Adelegbe and Tajudeen Adefisoye.
