Ondo Govt. To Train 18, 000 Youths in Agricultural Value Chains
Eighteen thousands youths from across the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State will be trained in various agricultural skills.
The training is part of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu administration’s Agricultural programme, aimed at providing jobs for the unemployed youths in the state.
Secretary to the Ondo State Agri-business Empowerment Centre OSAEC Segun Odusanya made the disclosure at the screening exercise for the interested youths farmers today in Akure, the state capital.
The youths according to him, will be trained intensively in agricultural value chains from production, processing to storage of agricultural products for two weeks.
At the end of the exercise, the trained youth framers will be allowed lands by the state government to enable them put their skills to use and be gainfully employed.
Some of the applicants Adesuyi Olusegun and Kuboye Thomas commended state government for the initiative.
They however pleaded for transparency in the selection process.
