Ondo Assembly tasks waste management on recycling

The Ondo State House of Assembly has advised the leadership of waste management to embark on recycling of waste.

House Committee on Petroleum, Environment, Bitumen and Energy led by its Chairman, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, gave the advised during an oversight visit to the Ministry environment and waste management Agency in Akure.

Ogunmolasuyi noted that recycling of waste would go a long way in the developing the state.

Other members of the committee who spoke implored the ministry to be proactive and join hands together with their sister agency in order to achieve the set goal.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Environment, Akin Asaniyan, promised that the ministry would continue to do the needful, sought for the support of the committee to tackle environmental challenges.

Also, The General Manager, Ondo State Waste Management Authority, Mrs Ayo Adeyemo appealed to the state government for the full management of the newly purchased dumpsite.
