Obasanjo, Secondus in closed-door meeting amid PDP crisis

PDP national chairman Uche Secondus, and a former,  president, chief  Olusegun Obasanjo have held a meeting behind closed doors in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

It was gathered that the PDP chairman’s visit may not be unconnected with the internal wranglings within the ranks of PDP.

This is as Secondus is battling to keep his seat following the crisis rocking the major opposition party in Nigeria.

A crack had emerged in the PDP national working committee two weeks ago, after the resignation of some officials and calls for Secondus’ resignation by some NWC members.

The PDP leaders have agreed that the party’s national convention should hold in October to elect a new leadership.
