Nonagenarian losses life to building collapse in Akure
An elderly woman died this morning in Akure after a building partially collapsed in the Ondo state capital.
Rhoda Olohun died when the building she lived in with her family and some tenants in Fanibi area, collapsed around 3am while most of them were fast asleep.
A shop owner in the building, as well as the grandson of the deceased narrated their ordeal.
They spoke in Yoruba language.
Commissioner of police in Ondo state, Bolaji Salami, confirmed the incident.
While speaking in Yoruba, he denied arresting the owner of the building.
The building has since been sealed off.
