Nnamdi Kanu brought to court for trial amid tight security
There is tension around the federal high court in Abuja where the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of BIAFRA, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, resumes today.
Movement into the roads leading to the court was restricted as armed security operatives manned the entire area.
Security operatives including policemen, soldiers and DSS, barred journalists and some court officials from gaining access to the courtroom.
DSS officials had set up a barricade at the entrance of the federal high court and they prevented reporters and officials from gaining entry, resulting in angry scenes and arguments.
Nnamdi Kanu is facing charges bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony charges brought against him by the federal government.
Meanwhile, the leader of indigenous people of BIAFRA, Nnamdi Kanu was brought to court in Abuja amidst tight security.
