Nigerians frown over Garba Shehu first Twitter post as government lifts ban

Twitter says they are committed to serve public conversations in Nigeria and around the world.

Twitter public policy made this known while reacting to the federal government’s suspension of the ban placed on it in Nigeria, since June 2021.

The federal government lifted the suspension of Twitter operations in the country, months after it announced a clampdown on the social media platform.

Both parties have been in negotiations over restoring the service based on a set of conditions, including Twitter registering its operations in Nigeria.

In the meantime, some Nigerians have criticised the first tweet by presidential aide Garba Shehu a few hours after Twitter operations were formally restored in Nigeria.

Shehu had midnight tweeted that Nigeria gained immeasurably from the shutdown of twitter when the Nigerians tackled him.

Reacting, the Nigerians asked Garba Shehu to state the gains of Twitter suspension.
