NCDC confirms over 200 new cases of COVID-19

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC has announced 201 new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

In Kaduna, 74 new cases were discovered, in Lagos state, 53 new cases were discovered, while Katsina recorded 40 new cases.

Rivers recorded 11, Plateau recorded 9 while in Kwara, 6 new cases were recorded.

Bauchi Ogun Taraba and Taraba states recorded 2 cases each, while Edo and Sokoto states recorded one case each.

Meanwhile, a medical doctor, Alero Roberts, has blamed the spike in COVID-19 cases in Nigeria on a general laxity in preventing the spread of the virus.

On the reluctance of persons to get tested, Dr Roberts blamed this on the fear of inability to remain active and go about day-to-day activities.

The health expert also expressed fears that the problem of distribution will ultimately affect vaccination process when it eventually gets to Nigeria.
