NANS threatens to disrupt political campaigns

The National Association of Nigerian Students has faulted the court judgement mandating the Academic Staff Union of Universities to call of its strike.

The student union spokesperson Giwa Temitope explained that rather than direct ASUU to return to classroom, the court should have ordered the federal government to sort the striking lecturers.

He insisted that the only remedy to the strike action is for the federal government to accede to the demands of ASUU which the government willingly entered into.

Recall that the students had earlier threatened to disrupt political campaigns across the country if ASUU strike lingers.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has been on strike since February 14, 2022 as talks between the federal government and union stalls.
