Mozambique says two border police killed in shooting incident
Authorities in Mozambique and South Africa are investigating an incident at the countries’ border post that led to the death offended two Mozambican border police officers.
The incident occurred on Sunday.
Mozambique police spokesman Juarse Martins said the country’s police force and its South African counterpart are holding a joint meeting to establish the real causes that led to that incident.
Brig Gen Mafi Mgobozi from the South Africa’s National Defence Force (SANDF) said the force had sent a team to the border area to get more information.
Other reports say the South Africans mistook the Mozambicans for poachers.
