Miyetti Allah to meet south west governors over vacation order
Southwest governors and the leadership of Miyetti Allah will meet today over Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s order to herdsmen to vacate forest reserves.
Akeredolu had last Monday issued a seven-day ultimatum to herdsmen in the forest reserves to leave the area as part of measures to curb kidnappings and banditry.
Reports say the meeting was meant to find lasting solutions to the incessant killings, kidnapping, and crises between herdsmen and farmers in the region.
Ondo state commissioner for information, Donald Ojogo confirmed the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Ondo state government has expressed its readiness to begin the enforcement of the eviction order.
The special adviser to the governor on security matter, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, said the enforcement would be strategically carried out.
He explained that it would not be like a war.
