Mass Defection Hits Ekiti as Senator Olujimi, Others Join APC

The National Secretary of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC), Senator Bashir Ajibola, has officially welcomed hundreds of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) into the APC in Ekiti State.

The defectors, led by Senator Biodun Olujimi, Obafemi Adéwálé, and a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Babatunde Omotosho, were received at a ceremony that signaled a significant boost for the ruling party in the state.

In his remarks, Senator Ajibola described the opposition parties as sinking ships incapable of steering Nigeria towards prosperity.

He commended the defectors for making what he termed a patriotic and progressive decision to align with the APC.

Senator Biodun Olujimi who spoke on behalf of the defectors, cited the policies and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level, along with the developmental strides of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Ekiti State, as key reasons for their defection.

The new APC members pledged their loyalty and commitment to the success of the party at both the state and national levels.
