Lucky Aiyedatiwa Dismisses Federal High Court Ruling on Future Governorship Bid in Ondo State

The governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dismissed a Federal High Court judgement barring him from contesting another governorship election.

He described it as a distraction while fielding questions in a TV interview.

Aiyedatiwa adds that he has not at any time declared interest in running for another election in the state, as there is currently no timetable for any governorship election in Ondo State.

He explains that the court case was not initiated by him but by other individuals seeking clarification on his eligibility.

The governor says he will consult his lawyers before deciding whether to appeal the Federal High Court ruling.

He insists the ruling will not distract him from governance as he focuses on delivering on the mandate he secured in the 2024 Ondo State governorship election.
