kidnappers demand N10m ransom for victims in Ondo

The Ondo State Government has restated its determination to continue to ensure the safety of citizens and their property.

Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs Bamidele Ademola-Olateju said there was no need for citizens to panic.

Mrs Ademola-Olateju spoke to newsmen in Akure in reaction to saturday’s kidnapping of some travellers in Ofon, Ose local government.

She hinted that a 32-seater costal bus was ransacked, the people were searched, they were dispossessed of their valuables as assailants shot into the air.

The commissioner saluted the alertness of Amotekun Corps at responding timely to distressed calls after the incident.

Ademola-Olateju informed that the kidnappers have made contact with the families of the victims, demanding ransom of between 3 million to 10 million naira.
