Kaduna govt threatens clampdown on clerics harbouring Almajiri

The commissioner for human services and social development in Kaduna state, Hafsat Baba, has warned Quranic teachers against harbouring Almajiri in the state.

The commissioner said anyone caught would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Hafsat made this known while speaking with newsmen in the state.

The commissioner said no fewer than 20,000 Almajiri had been moved to their states of origin by the government.

Also, she announced that the state government had distributed free food worth 500 million naira during the lockdown.
