Just In: Oyetola Approves New Minimum Wage, Lifts Embargo On Annual Salary Increment
Osun state government and labour union leaders have reached an agreement on a new minimum wage for civil servants in the state
The state has also lifted embargo on Annual salary increment, workers promotion and conversion
The state governor, Gboyega Oyetola made this known in his office at Abere, Osogbo after a close door meeting held with labour union leaders in the state
Oyetola noted that the gesture is in fulfilment of his administration’s pledge to prioritize workers welfare.
He urged civil servants in the state to increase their productivity and efficient service delivery in order to boost the state internally generated revenue.
In his remarks, the chairman of Nigeria Labour.Congress, Jacob Adekomi lauded the state government for the gesture saying this is the best thing that has happened to state’s civil servants in the last ten years
Adekomi however charged governor Oyetola to intervene and ressolve workers and management crisis at the state University in order to enhance industrial harmony needed for efficient productivity
The implementation of the new minimum wage will commence in November, this year
